The EQM-1A is the mastering version of our ever-popular EQP-1A program equalizer. Since bringing the EQP-1A model (3 rack-space) back into production in 2014, it has overtaken the 2U silver-face (but identical circuit topology) in popularity. Since first rereleasing the EQP-1A, customers have asked if/when we planned to do a mastering version of this iconic product. Well, we listen to our customers requests and feedback and so here it is. Complete with the same full-range progressive-taper Elma Switch stepped controls as our EQM-1A3 & EQM-1S3 mastering EQs, the BOOST/ATTEN controls provide 0.5dB steps for the initial ~50% of rotation and then increase step size as rotation is increased from 50%-100%. This provides fine control (subtle boost/cut) for mastering/mix-bus applications, while still delivering the full range (16-20 dB) of BOOST/ATTEN for more aggressive tracking applications.
